I'm still in quite a shock. As if everything is just a dream. I still can't believe that I'm working in, what seems to me, the best job I could ever have! It's true what they say, you know. Find a job you that you like and you'll never have to work in your life again. I couldn't have said it better myself.
So why am I in shock?
The October-November issue of InFlight Magazine was delivered today and all I can say is...wow! It's so surreal. I mentioned before that it didn't sink in to me that I was editorial assistant until I saw my name on the staff box of our August-September issue. This is more than that. Right now, seeing my name, not just on the staff box but all over the magazine...it's simply fantastic. I just can't believe it! Four by-lines in this issue and I can't help but be happy!

Yes, I think this is really something I can be so proud of. All my hard work has paid off! It's such a great feeling. Sometimes, even if I'm a hundred percent aware that I'm working in InFlight, it still comes a surprise that I have come so far from being that girl who wrote simple notes to this young lady who is able to interview a lot of people, write about them and be acknowledged. Even if readers don't look at the by-lines of the articles, who cares? They're reading what I wrote, right? It's more than enough.
This issue is something I'm really proud of! Just seeing the quality of our magazine, and knowing that people love our magazine (yes, I've heard people say that InFlight is not just any ordinary travel magazine)...it only makes me want to strive harder and produce something much better.

I am the luckiest girl in the world!

Last Friday, I had my second after-work gimik with my friends Ate Det and Jan. If you've read my blog, you'll remember that the last time I went out with these two was four months ago. Actually, 3 month and a half months, to be more precise. But unlike the first time, it was Jan's turn to treat us out. You see the pattern? Now you know who's going to treat out the next time we meet. Hint, hint.
So, ok. The three of us arranged to meet up between 5:45 and 6:00 in the evening at Bacolod Chicken Inasal in Greenbelt 1. Good thing I was already out of the office. No, I didn't leave early. I had a meeting with InFlight and LEP for a special project in SEAIR and we decided to do the meeting at The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf at Greenbelt 3. The meeting started 3:30 in the afternoon and it ended 5:30. Wow! That was quite a long meeting. I didn't even notice since most of the meeting, we were all laughing. Hahaha!
With 15 minutes to spare, I decided to scout for some books in National Bookstore. Note to self: Must buy "Tikman ang Langit: An Anthology on the Eraserheads" by Robin Rivera. I got a call from Jan saying that they were near our meeting place. After ten minutes, Jan called again saying that they were already there. Great! And so, there we were at Bacolod Chicken Inasal...hahaha! This actually reminds me of the television sitcom, Three's Company -- only with us, we're not living together in an apartment and no one pretended to be gay.
Hahaha! It was kind of funny, you know, how dinner went. Although I have to apologize for the cell phone calls. Bad Margie, bad. Things have just been pretty hectic at work. Once again, sorry. Ok, back to the story. Somehow, our dinner-slash-bonding time turned into Jan's hot seat moment. Hahaha! I don't think it's so much of a hot seat since the conversation went on just fine. But definitely, if there were spotlights, every one of those would be pointed towards Jan. Let's not get into the details of the conversation. That's between the three of us.
After eating paa, pecho, atay, garlic and plain rice and a couple of glasses of iced tea, everyone was in the mood for Dairy Queen Blizzards. So from Greenbelt 1, we walked back to Glorietta 4 to order some blizzards. Mmmm...I haven't had a DQ Blizzard for the longest time so to have one at that time was simply divine! Chocolate Chip Blizzard never tasted better.
And then, picture time!
Since there wasn't so much to do next, we all decided to go home. Once again, I apologize to Ate Det and Jan for walking with me all the way to Greenbelt just so I can get into a taxi.
Thanks a lot to Ate Det and Jan for another wonderful bonding session. Till our next "meeting."
Today is, fortunately, an easy-going day. Yes, I’ve been at work about two hours but truth of the matter is, this day is a lot more stress-free compared to that of yesterday’s shindig. Although I don’t mind the adrenaline rush, I’m relieved that for now, I get to relax in a way.
Right now, I’m much more focused on the paper works that has been neatly placed on my desk tray (thank you for being so organized instead of just leaving it on my table). Research here, phone call there, organizing this, meeting that. How great it is that I’m not rushing anything. And for that to happen on a Friday is what makes it even better. That means I’ll be having a great weekend. It’s the beginning of a much-needed R&R.
In between my composing this entry, I research events and other travel-related news for our December ’08-January ’09 issue. It’s really a fast-paced environment – working in a magazine. Nonetheless, it’s really great. I do think I’ve been meeting the expectations of my bosses. Hopefully, the longer I stay here, I will be able to exceed those expectations. I don’t want to make my being the newbie or being the youngest here in the office as an excuse that I can’t fulfill my responsibilities.
Anyway, I’ll blog later in the evening if I can. Right now, I need to get back to work.
Ciao!
Today has got to be one of the most tiring days I have ever had since I started working in SEAIR! Oh yeah...believe it or not, I was so tired that I opted to leave the office at 4:30 in the afternoon. Everybody at work could see that I was all ready to jump on a bed and just sleep. I have been yawning all afternoon after a very busy morning.
o O o
05:00am - Wake up call c/o my alarm clock
05:10am - Got up, fixed my bed, and washed my face
05:30am - Cooked breakfast (rice, bacon, eggs, daing na bangus)
06:00am - Woke up parents and brother
06:05am - Ironed clothes for work
06:30am - Ate breakfast with parents while Kuya Miguel is still in bed
06:50am - Brushed my teeth and took a bath
07:20am - Changed into my work clothes
07:40am - Out of the house
Funny moment as I went out...
Baby Karl was down at the parking lot with his yaya, Ate Beng. I saw Karl sitting on the pavement, crying his eyes out. The moment I approached them, Karl turned to me and started screaming, "Bad! Bad!" Ate Beng explained that Karl was having tantrums because his mom just left for work. So I tried to cheer him up. I gave him the mamon I have brought with me. As soon as he saw the food, Karl came to me and took the mamon from my hand. He waved goodbye to me and blew me a flying kiss. Awww...I tell you, I am so in love with that kid.
08:10am - Arrived at Stephen Ku's apartment (sorry guys, I can't say where he lives...hehehe) to get stuff for InMyBag photo shoot
08:20am - Took a taxi and went to the office to pick up Ms. Jen so we can go to the studio together
09:10am - Arrived at LOWE Worldwide for scheduled photo shoot
The photo shoot was more than two hours. Three people for SEAIR People and InMyBag. It was cold but that was bearable. But, oh my, was I starting to feel very sleepy. It was so tempting to sleep in a very cool room. At quarter to noon, I was out of the building of LOWE Worldwide and I went back to our office so I can fix Stephen's things and bring them back to him at his office.
12:20pm - Delivered Stephen's items to his office
01:00pm - Back in the office
01:10pm - Went out to eat lunch
Such a "lonesome" break. I was eating lunch alone at Yoshinoya. Meanwhile, I was texting a couple of my friends...just so I can have the illusion of having company. Hehehe...
From 2 o'clock until 4:30 in the afternoon, work load was pretty much what kept me going through the afternoon. I was yawning all over the place. At my workspace, in the editorial room, in the pantry...everywhere!
Tired. So tired. That's why I opted to just go home and rest. And rest, I did. When I got home at 5:30pm, I immediately proceeded to the couch and slept. No more beds...I just wanted to sleep. All right so I didn't sleep all the way. I still woke up at 6:45pm so I could cook dinner. But at least I got rest. And now, I'm going to take that much-anticipated sleep right after logging off my laptop.
And that would be now.
Till my next entry,
